我が家にある最も新しい”Ｄ”なＣＤ
引き続きＣＤネタで。昨日のハナシの続き。
メンケン先生ベストを買わずに何買うんですか！？という問いかけに応えるのがこのエントリー。
最も最近発売されたＣＤで所有しているのが、"Disney's Greatest Musicals"。
これはアメリカ発売のＣＤではなく、ＵＫ盤。発売元はＥＭＩですが、ちゃんとＷａｌｔＤｉｓｎｅｙＲｅｃｏｒｄｓ承認済み。２枚組になっていて、全４２曲が収録されています。発売日は２００８年２月２５日。
タイトルからするとミュージカルになった作品からのピックアップのように捉えられがちですが、別に舞台の楽曲というわけではなく、"Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs"から"Enchanted"までの様々な作品から選曲されたものになっています。まぁ舞台化されている"The Lion King"や"Beauty and the Beast"、"TARZAN"、そして"AIDA"までも楽曲が収録されています。他にも"The Nightmare Before Christmas"やディズニー・チャンネルの大ヒット番組"High School Musical"からも選抜されていますし、さらに珍しいのはあまり日本では知られていない（？）アラン・メンケン大先生作曲の映画"Newsies"からの楽曲も含まれていたり．．．
著名作品の主題歌もあれこれ収録されていますが、アーティスト盤ではなく劇中のサントラからの選曲になっています。どういう基準で選抜されているのか把握しておりませんが、過去の作品からいろいろとバラエティに富んだ選出となっています。
ジャケットもメリー・ポピンズやシンバ、ＨＳＭの若者達にベルとビースト、そしてジゼルが配置されているというなんとも微妙なものになっていますが、とりあえず名曲をシャッフルして聴いてる感覚だったりします。
ＵＫ盤だけに扱ってる場所が限られると思われますが、特にオススメすることもなくこのエントリーは終了する。 データとして、収録曲はextendに記述。
